Years ago, I had a sales coach.  He would teach students this principle.

Making sales is like standing in the center of a circle and walking towards the surface.

As long as you keep walking in the same general direction, sooner or later you’ll reach your goal - to make a sale.

But if you keep setting off in one direction first, then change your mind and decide to try something else and move in along a different path, then again back-track to follow another idea, you’ll just keep going around WITHIN the circle - and never reach the surface.
